About FKG LAW

FAMILY LAW
We are a boutique family law firm offering a consultative and collaborative approach to resolving complex family law issues. Specialising in property and parenting disputes, child support and spousal maintenance matters, divorce, defacto and same sex relationships, child relocation and abduction as well as domestic and family violence.

MEDIATION
We also offer an end-to-end mediation service (our mediator is NMAS accredited) that circumvents the need for separating couples to engage in costly and drawn-out court proceedings. Couples can reach swift agreement in their dispute and have legal documents prepared in-house and lodged in court by consent.

COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE
In 2019 FKG Law started offering Collaborative Practice as an alternative to the traditional approach to family law matters. What’s the difference? Collaborative Practice is a form of alternative dispute resolution where we and our clients, together with the other party and their lawyer, make a commitment to negotiate a mutual agreement away from the courts.

This practice brings lawyers, social workers/psychologists and financial advisors together to work as a team to assist clients to negotiate a resolution to their dispute. Most negotiations take place in 5-way meetings and in the event that the matter is not resolved we step away and will not litigate the matter.
