What is Criminal Law?

Criminal law covers the laws, codes and regulations that makes certain actions illegal and subject to criminal punishment if you're found guilty. Usually, a police officer will enforce the criminal law by issuing a fine or infringement, or making an arrest, which could lead to a criminal record and imprisonment.

Criminal lawyers can give you legal advice and represent you in relation to criminal offences (both violent and non-violent offences). For example:
