Mediation Information Assessment Meeting - Initial mediation consultation to assess whether or not mediation is a process for you.

  • Selected Date and Time Tuesday, 4 June 2024 at 15:00 (Asia/Bangkok)
  • Duration 60 minutes

Mediation is a common sense approach to resolving family disputes. It is a process which helps people in your circumstances to deal with any or all of the questions which arise when families separate or thereafter, with a view to assisting you to work things out together in an open and informal setting. It is an alternative way of resolving issues, to the traditional route of separate legal representation and is not a process to try and get you back together.

Our MIAMs meet will be to discuss mediation and whether or not this is a process you would like to engage in. You may not have to pay for this initial meeting. I will assess your eligibility for Public Funding and if you are eligible for legal aid then this meeting will be free of charge. If you are not eligible for public funding then there will be a standard fee of £120.00 inc VAT.
If you would like to be assessed for legal aid could you please forward to me evidence of all sources of your income to include
1.All wage slips during the last month
2.Confirmation of you live claim for ESA/JSA/Universal Credit (this must be dated within the last month)
3.Bank statement for the last three months for all accounts in your sole name and joint names also showing your name and address including any savings accounts.
4.Evidence of your rent/mortgage that you pay (i.e. a tenancy agreement)
5. Evidence of any child care costs you may be paying.
6. Evidence of any maintenance you may be paying to your ex.
I confirm that following receipt of the above an assessment can be carried out and if it appears that you are eligible for Legal Aid and therefore, subject to you providing sufficient evidence of your income and capital as discussed, the cost of the meeting will be covered under the Legal Aid Scheme.
Please find a link here to our 'MIAM's Terms of Business' which I would ask you to carefully read before our meet.
