Daniel Shestowsky

I'm a Sydney-based criminal defence lawyer with a practice focused on criminal and traffic law; from drink-driving matters in the Local Court to complex fraud, sexual assault, and robbery trials in the District and Supreme Courts of NSW.

In 2020, I co-founded Australian Lawyers and Advocates alongside Jack Leitner, with a shared vision of delivering focused, high-quality criminal defence. In 2025, I was proud to attain Specialist Accreditation in Criminal Law from the Law Society of NSW, a recognition held by a small proportion of the profession.

My practice spans the full breadth of criminal jurisdiction: Local Court matters, District Court trials, Supreme Court bail applications, sentences, appeals, and appearances before the Court of Criminal Appeal. I also regularly appear in the Children's Court, and I understand the particular sensitivity those matters demand.

What drives me is straightforward; every client who walks through the door is dealing with one of the most stressful moments of their life. I take that seriously. My job is to be prepared, strategic, and a genuine advocate for the person sitting across from me, not just the case in front of me.

I'm always open to connecting with fellow legal professionals, sharing insights on criminal law practice, and contributing to conversations around access to justice and the criminal justice system.
