Kath Manby

Kath’s journey to founding VM Family Law began in the UK, where she practiced law before making the life-changing decision to emigrate to Australia on her own. She continued her legal career in Australia, working with Legal Aid and private firms. Following the passing of her father, Kath experienced a pivotal moment that inspired her to create VM Family Law, a firm dedicated to family law and domestic violence advocacy.

As the Principal of VM Family Law, Kath leads the only family law firm in the Greater Springfield region with an Accredited Specialist in Family Law, herself being the only one in the area. Her firm is known for its commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence, and Kath’s work has earned her multiple finalist nominations for the prestigious Dame Quentin Bryce Domestic Violence Prevention Award, reflecting her passion for driving systemic change.

Kath serves as an Independent Children’s Lawyer, advocating for the rights of children in family law disputes, and sits on the Queensland Law Society Domestic Violence Committee. She also regularly presents domestic violence training programs for legal professionals and has been listed on the Doyles List for family lawyers in parenting matters.

A dedicated community advocate, Kath has raised over $110,000 for the Ipswich Financial Abuse Unit through initiatives like the Dancing CEO event. She also serves as a committee member of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, contributing to the growth and support of her local business community.

Kath works from both the Robina and Brookwater offices. She is available at the Robina office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and at the Brookwater office on Thursdays. Appointments outside of this schedule at either office may be arranged by contacting our office by phone.
