1.2 Personal information is defined in the Privacy Act and means information or an opinion that can be associated with a specific person, or can be used to identify that person. Information that has been made anonymous or aggregated so that it cannot be used, whether in combination with other information or otherwise, to identify a specific person is not personal information.
2.1 LawTap only collects personal information for the purposes of conducting Our business as an online legal booking service and legal services directory. The personal information We collect from you will include information you give Us when you:
(a) register or subscribe to the Website;
(b) making a booking via the Website; or
(c) contact us in person, by phone or in writing (whether electronic, via our communication tools or otherwise).
We also collect personal when you visit and/or use the Website, in which case, We record information sent to us by your computer, mobile device or other access device; and from third parties such as Our related entities, service providers to Us, operators of linked websites and applications on your computer or mobile device.
2.2 The personal information that We collect may include, but is not limited to:
(a) your name;
(b) your date of birth;
(c) your contact details including your address, email, mobile phone number and any other phone number you provide;
(d) records and content of communications with Us or any other person including when using Website communication tools; personal information you provide to Us through any correspondence (including email correspondence) or shared by you from other social media such as Facebook; and
(e) personal information based on your interaction with, or activities on, the Website and its content and advertising, including computer and mobile device identifiers, device type, geo-location information, connection information, statistics on page views, traffic to and from the Website, mobile network information, time, date, referring URL, the type of operating system and browser, IP address and standard web log data.
2.3 We may collect personal information from you even though you are not a registered user but is given to Us in the course of using our Website or in the preparation of entering into a transaction with Us.

5.1 LawTap does not sell personal information. However, you agree that We may disclose your personal information to:
(a) process bookings made on the Website;
(c) comply with any applicable law, request by a government agency or regulatory authority or court order;
(d) respond to or resolve claims that a person has violated the rights of others;
(e) protect a person’s rights, property or safety;
(f) Our directors, staff, contractors, professional advisers and related entities;
(g) outsourced service providers who assist Us to provide Our services such as information technology providers and marketing advisers (including in relation to fraud investigations and Website operations);
(h) third parties to whom you expressly ask Us to send, or consent to Us sending, your personal information; or
6.1 We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information We hold against risks such as loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure or other forms of misuse. When no longer required, personal information is destroyed in a secure manner or deleted.
6.2 Our employees and contractors are required, as a condition of their employment, to treat personal information held by Us as confidential, and to maintain the confidentiality of that personal information.
7.1 When you visit our Website, We, and/or third parties, may place cookies on your browser to enhance and manage the Website and improve Our business and the services provided to you. A Cookie is a small file that stays on your computer or device until, depending on whether it is a sessional or persistent cookie, you turn your computer or device off or it expires.

(c) remember your booking choices so that they can be used for future bookings;

7.5 By using the Website and granting Us permission to place and store cookies on your browser you acknowledge that We may collect the following information:

(c) your computer's Internet Protocol (IP) address and geolocation;
(d) web pages visited, including how you were referred to each web page; and

8.1 Under the Privacy Act, you have certain rights to access the personal information We collect and hold about you. You also have the right to ask Us to correct information about you that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
8.2 Generally, subject to the exceptions of APP 12.3, We will allow you access to the personal information We hold about you within a reasonable time after it is requested.
8.3 To provide you with access to personal information We may hold about you, please identify the precise type/s of information requested, in writing, and include your phone number and other relevant contact details and forward this to our Privacy Officer at the address below. In the interests of protecting the privacy of individuals about whom We hold personal information, We will require that you verify your identity by enclosing a copy of a form of identification such as a current driver's licence or passport with your written request (this will be returned to you after your identity has been verified).
8.4 Ordinarily, We will not charge you for the cost of providing this type of access to records about you. However, if We do propose to charge you, We will advise you of the relevant charge before We provide you with access. If you wish to discuss our method of providing access, please contact Our Privacy Officer with your query. If you wish to change personal information that is inaccurate or out-of-date, please contact Our Privacy Officer via post or email displayed below.
8.5 Where We receive a request to correct information, We will take reasonable steps to consider the request and correct the information, having regard to the purpose for which it is held.
